Barska Safes FAQs

Why is my fingerprint not being recognized by the biometric safe?

Your fingerprint patterns can change over time due to wear and tear. We recommend re-registering your fingerprint on the biometric safe every six months for optimal usage. You may also register your finger multiple times, each time slightly varying the placement, as the scanner may read your fingerprint differently each time you access your safe.

Which Anchormaster Telescope is recommended for astronomy?

We highly recommend the 36 Power Model, AE10824, for astronomical observations due to its superior magnification and clarity. Can you tell me how to use these binoculars to take a picture? AH11410

How do I use the Barska AH11410 binoculars to take a picture?

To use these binoculars for photography, you need to first ensure that you have a FAT32 formatted SD Card. The camera should be switched on to picture mode, and the 'shutter button' can be used to capture images. This button is located on the right side of the device.

What is the steel gauge of your key lock boxes?

Our AX11692 model key lock box is made of 16-gauge steel, offering robust and reliable security.

Why doesn't the safe automatically open after I hear the bolts disengage?

If you own a top-opening safe, you'll need to manually lift the lid using the handle once the bolts have disengaged.

I recently activated my Barska Biometric Fingerprint safe and now it takes multiple attempts to open. What can I do?

For optimal recognition, choose a clear fingerprint for registration. Try to register the same finger up to ten times, making sure to slightly vary the placement each time. This will help the scanner recognize your fingerprint even if you place it differently when opening the safe.

What does Factory Default Mode mean?

In Factory Default Mode, any registered fingerprint can open the safe.

I can't unlock my safe despite the green light indicator. What should I do?

Please refer to instruction BC603 for detailed steps to unlock your safe.

What if the biometric scanner fails to recognize my fingerprint or the battery runs low?

Most of our safes have an external battery function. In such cases, you can use an external battery pack to open the safe. Alternatively, you can use your emergency key. If the biometric scanner consistently fails, you may need to reset your safe to factory default mode and re-register your fingerprints.

I can't turn my Emergency key after inserting it. Why?

Make sure the bolts are in the extended position; otherwise, the key can't be turned. If the safe is closed with batteries inside, you'll need to open it using the fingerprint module unless the batteries are depleted.

I lost my Emergency key. How can I order a new one?

You can order a new key for your safe through this link: https://www.barska.com/barskasupport

Will I be alerted when the safe's battery is low?

Some of our safes will emit a chirping sound to alert you of a low battery when you attempt to use the fingerprint system.

The safe isn't working after I installed the new batteries. Why?

Please check the polarity of the batteries. They should be alternating in the battery slot.

Why can't I open the door after turning the Emergency key?

For safes with a handle, both the Emergency key and handle must be turned to open the door. For safes without a handle, pull outward on the safe's door from the left side of the fingerprint module.

Why can't I keep the Emergency key inside the safe?

It's important to keep the Emergency keys in a safe place away from the safe. They are your backup access in case the biometric scanner fails to recognize your fingerprint or if the batteries are low or depleted.

FAQs on locks

Why can't I unlock my safe despite the green light indication?

Please refer to the BC603 instructions for detailed steps to unlock your safe.

What do I do if the internal battery is low and I cannot open the safe using the biometric scanner?

If your safe is equipped with an external battery function, you can use an external battery pack to open it. Alternatively, your emergency key can also be used to open the safe.

Why does it take several attempts to open my biometric safe?

For better accuracy, we recommend registering the same fingerprint 5-10 times and adjusting the placement slightly each time. This allows the scanner to capture a comprehensive image of your fingerprint.

Why can't I turn my emergency key after inserting it?

Firstly, ensure the bolts are in the extended position, as the key cannot be turned otherwise. Secondly, if the safe is closed with batteries inside, you will need to open it using the fingerprint module unless the batteries are depleted.

Is there an emergency key? What if I lose it?

Yes, each safe comes with an emergency key. If lost, a new one can be ordered via our support page: https://www.barska.com/barskasupport.

What if my fingerprint does not work, despite multiple attempts, and the safe just keeps beeping?

In this case, use your emergency key to open the safe. Reset the safe to factory default mode, then re-register your fingerprints.

What should I do if the inside battery is low and I cannot open the safe using the biometric scanner?

If your safe has an external battery function, you can use the external battery pack to open the safe. If not, your emergency key can be used.

Why does the safe sometimes open with my fingerprint and sometimes not?

To minimize this issue, register the same fingerprint at least 10 times, including multiple angles. This way, the biometric scanner can recognize your print even if your finger is placed differently.

Will the safe alert me if the battery is low?

Some of our safes will sound a chirping alert, indicating a low battery, when you try to use the fingerprint system. However, not all models have this feature.

Why isn't the safe working after installing new batteries?

Please ensure the batteries' polarity is correct. They should be alternating in the battery compartment.

Why can't I open the door after turning the emergency key?

For safes with a handle, both the emergency key and the handle must be turned to open the door. For safes without a handle, pull outward on the safe's door from the left side or the fingerprint module.

Why shouldn't I keep the emergency key inside the safe?

The emergency key is your backup access in case the biometric scanner fails to recognize your fingerprint or the batteries are depleted. Keep the emergency keys in a safe place away from the safe.

What should I do if I can't open my combination lock box even though I've set a combination?

When setting the combination, the reset button needs to be moved from position B to A. After setting your combination, remember to place the reset button back to position B. If you still can't open the box, please contact us at (909) 445-8168 or service@barska.com for further assistance.
